Why do we say "aid and abet", "goods and chattel", "cease and desist", "signed, sealed, delivered" and other legal doublets and triplets?

As a lawyer in mundane life, I was curious about the historical origins of common modern legal terms, so I did a deep dive, which turned into a presentation for Atlantian University 107, 2021.
